Missoula, Montana

Welcome to Rocky Mountain Saw Works in beautiful Missoula, Montana! We are dedicated to restoring vintage saws and making new saws in the traditional style of yesteryear.

My Shop
My name is Bob Summerfield, and to be accurate, the "us" is really "me". I'm just an old retired guy who enjoys working on saws in his shop in the back yard. I consider myself a hobbyist rather than a business, but I do sell saws and take on commission work from time to time. See the "Our Services" tab for more information on the work I do.

I've been using handsaws for about six decades, but my interest in restoring and making saws is more recent. I have a particular interest in 19th century British and American saws. I've done my homework, and I believe I've developed a good understanding of saws, their different types and uses, how they were made during their heyday, and the many sawmakers who produced them. History is another interest, so I like to combine the two for maximum enjoyment.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my website. I strive for excellence in my work, and hopefully that is apparent. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, wish to purchase a saw, or need work done on saws you already own.

  1. Really nice job you did on the cabinet. It is so beautiful.

  2. I would really like to buy that fly tying desk you built. Do you take orders and if so how much?
